Fika is a platform that helps creatives easily invite other creatives for coffee, for collaborations, mentorship or gigs. I started this product with 2 friends and we scaled to onboard 250+ creatives to date. From co-designing user experiences, to leading development, to managing deadlines, I managed a variety of product and UI/UX design efforts for Fika.

From furniture designers, graphic designers, art directors to writers, creatives across all 5 NYC boroughs connected for gigs and collaborations. Leading the product direction, collaborating on the UX/UI, and development efforts, tracking engagement through logins and engagement metrics, I learned a lot about how to start and scale a product. Applying human-centered design to deliver genuine product value - from the high level vision to the functional feature level to the atomic UI components in each screen - has been the most rewarding experience. Hearing how two people meeting through Fika has grown a friendship or even resulted in a collaboration has been the most inspiring part of creating Fika from the ground up.
We threw a variety of networking events for creatives to meet, including social hours and co-working sessions, and learned a lot about our members' immediate needs as creatives.

We built this application out of the need to create a product post-pandemic, in a world where several freelancers and creatives feel lonely.
