During my time at Square, I led the user experience for a variety of credit products, including term loans. We wanted to provide higher loan offers to sellers, collecting external bank account data, outside of the checking account information we receive. In designing the experiences, I wanted to make sure we weren't compromising on the user experience, ensuring transparency and simplicity were fundamental to the product. Below are iterations of product directions I tested amongst sellers.

Eventually, I concluded on a direction that enables sellers to most easily add their bank accounts and the experience holds the seller accountable for inputting all their bank accounts. I conducted lightweight usability testing with 17 sellers of different GPV segments, and launched a "Choose your own adventure" flow, where sellers can opt in to submit their bank information and FICO information in order to yield a higher loan offer.
